New "Judge Dredd" Movie Given The Green Light

Reports that a new version of the 1995 action film "Judge Dredd" are true, science fiction comic 2000 AD announces on its forum. The film, which starred Sylvester Stallone in the original version, has officially been given a green light by the company. It is still not clear who would star in the titular character's role. The post reads: "Rebellion and 2000 AD are proud to announce that Judge Dredd is coming to a cinema near you soon!" "Together with DNA Films, the movie production company behind such great sci-fi movies such as 'Sunshine' and '28 Weeks Later,' 'Judge Dredd' will go into production in 2009." It further quotes CEO and Creative Director Jason Kingsley as saying, "We can't give away too many details at this point, but we're looking forward to working with DNA Films to bring Judge Dredd back to the big screen." No other details were disclosed.
