Philip Seymour Hoffman To Make His Directorial Debut In Romantic Comedy Flick

"Doubt" star Philip Seymour Hoffman is set to make his directorial debut in a new Overture Film's project, "Jack Goes Boating," an adaptation of an Off Broadway play by Bob Glaudini.

The 41-year-old actor will also star in the romantic comedy film and will be joined by Amy Ryan. The original play's stars John Ortiz and Daphne Rubin-Vega will reprise their roles, as per Variety.

Hoffman's Cooper Town banner will produce the picture along with Beth O'Neil and Marc Turtletaub and Peter Saraf's Big Beach. Hoffman and Ortiz are the executive producers.

Production stars in New York on February 9.
