Hip-hop star 50 Cent is joining the cast of a new indie film for Alex de Rakoff's gangland movie "Dead Man Running."

As per the Hollywood Reporter, the rapper - real name Curtis Jackson - will play a ruthless loan shark in the film, which centers on an ex-con trying to raise 0,000 in 24 hours to pay off Jackson's loan shark.

U.K. soccer stars Rio Ferdinand from Manchester United and Ashley Cole from Chelsea FC are executive producing.

Casts include Tamer Hassan, Danny Dyer, Brenda Blethyn, and Monet Mazur.

"Dead Man Running" began shooting Wednesday.
