Reese Witherspoon Making "Nice" With Fox Searchlight
Fri, 17 Apr 2009
Reese Witherspoon is possibly starring in a dark comedy film based on Jen Sacks' "Nice" novel. Fox Searchlight has acquired the rights to the film, which will be produced by the actress. The story will center on a magazine writer who accidentally kills her boyfriend. When she finds a way to get rid of the body, she discovers that killing boyfriends is easier than breaking up with them. Ben Queen will adapt the screenplay. According to Variety, Warner Bros. was first to show interest in the project, intending it as a light comedy and star vehicle for Helen Hunt. However, it was never realized. Fox Searchlight's version will maintain the dark, edgy tone of the book. Keri Selig, Gayla Nethercott and Jennifer Simpson will co-produce.
