Fri, 24 Oct 2008

The release date of the live action/CGI film "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel" has been moved closer. Instead of the original target date of 2010, the 20th Century Fox flick will now be released in 2009.

As per Variety, the movie, sequel to the 2007 "Alvin and the Chipmunks," will now be released on Christmas day in 2009, instead of March 29, 2010.

With its new premiere date, they will have to compete with another kid flick from Disney, "The Princess and the Frog."

Jason Lee will reprise his role as the human Dave Seville, while Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler, and Jesse McCartney will all return as the voices of The Chipmunks, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. The sequel is said to be focusing on their female counterparts, Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleonor.
