Samuel L. Jackson Holds Onto Nick Fury Character For Nine Marvel Films
Thu, 26 Feb 2009

Samuel L. Jackson will definitely reprise his Nick Fury role in "Iron Man 2," as well in many other upcoming Marvel Entertainment films, after making a long-term deal with the film company.

The deal contains an option to play the fictional super spy in nine future superhero films, which would most probably include movies already in the line-up such as "Captain America," "Thor," "The Avengers," and "The Shield," as per Variety.

Nick Fury is a World War II army hero and present-day super-spy in the Marvel Comics universe. He is the leader of the fictional espionage agency S.H.I.E.L.D. Jackson introduced the character in the closing moments of the 2008 film "Iron Man."

It was reported that Jackson expressed displeasure with the studio's initial offer to reprise his role in the film sequel.

Director Jon Favreau will start "Iron Man 2" production in the spring for a Summer 2010 release.
