Sarah Ferguson, Duchess Of York, To Have Her Children's Novels Adapted Into Film
Tue, 29 Sep 2009

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, has revealed her children's books are set to have their film adaptation. The former wife of Britain's Prince Andrew says an unnamed American company will produce film based on her novels.

Sarah tells the Daily Mail that she signed a deal with a major U.S. film company to bring her most recent children's book to the silver screen. She refuses to reveal the name of the company yet.

She is referring to six of her latest pre-school books, which have all been bestsellers with the Americans. Five of the books, written for children between four and eight, revolve around a character named Little Red.

The other, "Tea for Ruby," is about an accident-prone, red-haired girl who gets invited to a tea session with the Queen. It talks about her struggle to get ready on time.

She admits that after failing in the U.K., she was ready to admit early defeat in the U.S. too, but was delighted when the public "embraced" her.

Meanwhile, Sarah's produced film "The Young Victoria" has grabbed a U.S. distributorship. The costume drama is based on the young life of Queen Victoria and stars Emily Blunt in the title role.
