Stephen Chow Steps Down As "The Green Hornet" Director
Fri, 19 Dec 2008

"The Green Hornet" is looking for a new director as Stephen Chow drops out of the Columbia Pictures project.

Chow, who is best known for his martial arts comedy films "Kung Fu Hustle" and "Shaolin Soccer," signed with the studio in September to direct and star in the film. He stepped down as its director over creative differences, Variety reports.

He will still be involved in the film, playing Kato, a role originally played by Bruce Lee in the 1960s TV series.

Seth Rogen, along with Evan Goldberg, penned the script. He will be starring as the masked crime fighter, Green Hornet.

Production is scheduled to kick off by spring.
