Stephen King's "It" Planned For A Big Screen Remake
Fri, 13 Mar 2009
Stephen King's "It" is coming to the big screen, and Warner Bros. has tapped "The Invasion" writer Dave Kajganich to adapt the 1986 novel, as per Variety. The book was previously turned into an ABC made-for-TV film in 1990 starring Richard Thomas, John Ritter, Annette O'Toole, Jonathan Brandis and Tim Curry as the sadistic clown named Pennywise. "It" centers on seven children in a small Maine town who confront a malevolent creature taking shape in the form of a clown, who is the source of a series of murders in 1958 and again in 1985, when the cycle begins again. Though the novel is set in 1958 and 1985, the upcoming version will be set in the present day.
