Mon, 24 Nov 2008

Fresh from its box office debut success, "Twilight" is being prepped for another blood-sucking sequel, Summit Entertainment announces.

The vampire flick, which amassed .6 million on its opening weekend at the U.S. alone, is "officially moving forward" with a sequel.

The planned film, "New Moon," is also based on the novel of the same name by Stephanie Meyer.

The author said in a statement, "I don't think any other author has had a more positive experience with the makers of her movie adaptation than I have had with Summit Entertainment. I'm thrilled to have the chance to work with them again on New Moon."

"Twilight" stars Kristen Stewart as the mortal Bella and Robert Pattinson as the vampire Edward. It was released on theaters on November 21.
