Taylor Lautner Confirmed To Reprise Role In "New Moon"
Thu, 08 Jan 2009

Good news to the fans, after few weeks of uncertain future for Taylor Lautner in the "Twilight" sequel, he is now confirmed to reprise his role as Jacob Black in "New Moon."

A message from director Chris Weitz has been posted on author Stephanie Meyer's website, saying: "I'm very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he's doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephanie Meyer."

There had been some doubt on whether Lautner, 16, will reprise his role in the follow-up to the blockbuster vampire film. Jacob would require Lautner to gain more weight and height and age 10 years.

Lautner will be joining the film's stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, who will reprise their roles as the vampire Edward Cullen and the human Bella Swan in the upcoming film, based on Meyer's novel.
