Veteran Indian Film Villain MN Nambiar Dies At Age 89

Veteran Indian film actor MN Nambiar has passed away after suffering from age-related ailments for the past four months at his home. He was 89.

Nambiar - who was born Manjeri Narayanan Nambiar - had been in the Tamil cinema industry for more than 50 years. He often starred as a villain during his career so much that his name is almost eponymous with the Kollywood villain.

He has done over a thousand films, majority of which was done in Tamil. He also had his own drama troupe called Nambiar Nataka Mandram.

His favorite films are said to include "Aayirathil Oruvan," "Ambikapathi," Missiyamma," "Nenjam Marappathillai," and "Thooral Ninu Pochu." Another unforgettable film is "Thigambarasamiyar," in which he had 11 roles.

Nambiar is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.
