Virginia Madsen To Play Kevin Spacey's Ex-Wife In Indie Comedy

Virginia Madsen is going to star alongside Kevin Spacey in the indie comedy "Father of Invention" as his ex-wife. The story, scripted by Trent Cooper, Jonathan Krane and Nichole Beatty, centers on a humble inventor who becomes an egomaniacal billionaire. He spends eight years in federal prison and loses it all when one of his inventions went wrong. Upon his return, he discovers his ex-wife has spent his fortune and remarried. Camilla Belle, Heather Graham and Craig Robison are all on board. Cooper will be directing, while Scott Lumpkin will exec produce. Spacey and Dana Brunetti will produce through their Trigger Streets Productions, according to Variety. Madsen will next be seen in "Amelia," a biopic based on the life of Amelia Earhart, starring Hilary Swank as the title character.
