Woody Allen, The Coen Brothers Vie For WGA Awards

Woody Allen and the Coen Brothers, Joel and Ethan, have been nominated for writing original screenplays by the Writers Guild of America awards. Allen has been tapped for his "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" film, while the sibling duo are shortlisted for "Burn After Reading." Also nominated for original screenplay are Dustin Lance Black for "Milk," Tom McCarthy for "The Visitor" and Robert Siegel for "The Wrestler." For the adapted screenplay category, writers for "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," "The Dark Knight," "Doubt," "Frost/Nixon" and the multi-award winning film "Slumdog Millionaire" are all nominated. Winners will be announced on February 7 at ceremonies in New York and Los Angeles.
