Pacino and De Niro. Who needs first names?

It seems as if they've worked together before and we've certainly wanted them to ever since each began making movies about 40 years ago. But we've felt deprived of that pleasure in each of the two movies they've shared: Robert De Niro and Al Pacino had no screen time together in The Godfather, Part II in 1974 and not much more -- just one extended scene -- in Heat in 1995.
