In the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine, which will hit newsstands on Friday, the 63-year-old rocker revealed that he and Perry went into a drug binge in 2008 while working on a new album that never was completed.
"Joe was high and he couldn't play," Tyler said. "I couldn't sing, really, because I was snorting everything, and it fucks up your throat. It was the wrong time."

Sudeikis, who starred in this year's "Hall Pass," joins past hosts of the MTV Movie Awards that have included Aziz Ansari, Jimmy Fallon, Justin Timberlake, Sarah Silverman, Mike Myers, and fellow current "SNL" cast member Andy Samberg.

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN Entertainment) - Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are teaming up with "American Idol" creator Simon Fuller to begin a new reality competition show that celebrates Latin music.
In a statement released Wednesday, the couple will travel to major cities to assemble a cast of performers and create a live show called "Q'Viva! The Chosen" that will "become one of the greatest celebrations of Latin Culture that the world has ever seen," reports the Los Angeles Times.
"This is a show for the 21st century with an unprecedented global and local story," said Lopez in the statement. "The Latin culture is a tapestry that is rich in passion, tradition and artistry. We are going to places where all of this talent lives and wouldn't have otherwise been discovered. This journey for me and Marc is going to be exciting and groundbreaking."

Against some major competition fighting for a similar audience, which included the "Dancing with the Stars" results show and a special 90-minute "Glee," "The Voice" was the #1 show of the night for the 18-49 demographic.
The show earned a 5.1 rating and 11.8 million viewers, beating out both "Glee," "Dancing with the Stars," and re-runs on CBS. It's also the top-rated series premiere for a major network since CBS' "Undercover Boss" debuted last year.
Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN Entertainment) - Celebrity website Gossip Cop has signed a TV pilot deal that will be hosted by Beth Ostrosky Stern. The new project is being produced by TV Guide Network, and will be based on the website's practice of busting baseless gossip.
Gossip Cop founder Michael Lewittes will exec produce alongside co-founder Dan Abrams and Michael Hirschorn of Ish Entertainment.
Lewittes said of their new venture, "I'm thrilled that Gossip Cop is being turned into a TV show, and couldn't be happier to partner with TV Guide. Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN Entertainment) - "Glee" has once again irked the conservatives. An episode of the hit Fox musical comedy series, wherein the cast performed to the tune of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," was criticized to be just creator Ryan Murphy's gay fantasy.
The allegedly offending episode sees closeted gay David Karofsky, played by Max Adler, expecting to declare his sexuality by singing Gaga's chart-topping tune.
Conservative media critic Dan Gainor wasn't pleased with the episode's happy ending. He thought that it's just Murphy's "latest depraved initiative to promote his gay agenda."
Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN Entertainment) - "Dancing With The Stars" said goodbye to WWE superstar Chris Jericho Tuesday after a not-so-well received dance number with partner Cheryl Burke. The wrestler/musician graciously accepted his elimination, admitting that his tango rendition of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" wasn't his best.
The pair scored a 22, two points lower than "Karate Kid" star Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff even after the latter's stumble.
But even after he was kicked out, Jericho only had positive things to say about his time on the show.
New York, NY, United States (AHN Entertainment) - Keith Olbermann will be returning to the airwaves with a new show. The political commentator/broadcaster's new program will still be called "Countdown with Keith Olbermann," but will be aired on a new network, Current TV, this June.
Olbermann departed MSNBC in January, a couple of months after he returned on air from his suspension for donating to political candidates. He announced that he would be joining Current in February.
In addition to hosting and exec producing his show, he was also appointed as Chief News Officer for the Al Gore/Joel Hyatt public affairs channel.

According to the New York Times, Couric is officially leaving her post after five years as anchor and she'll be making the announcement this week, most likely following her coverage of the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday.
The network plans to announce her successor the following week, which is reportedly set to be "60 Minutes" correspondent Scott Pelley, although CBS's Harry Smith and Russ Mitchell have also been mentioned.

Christina, Cee Lo, Adam and Blake all collaborated on the Gnarls Barkley track "Crazy," which became a worldwide #1 hit for Cee Lo back in 2006. In the performance, Christina delivers her signature speaker-blowing vocals alongside Cee Lo, while Adam joins in on the drums and Blake Shelton on guitar.
A video of the star-studded performance is already online to promote the show's series premiere, which airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. on NBC. The performance will air at the start of the broadcast.

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN Entertainment) - "Glee" star Chris Colfer has sold his first TV pilot to Disney. The multi-talented actor, 20, has penned "The Little Leftover Witch," based on the children's book of the same name by Florence Laughlin.
Disney Channel is about to shoot the pilot, concerning a little witch taken in by a family after crash-landing on her broom, according to Deadline. Colfer got the project after his agent's husband, Rick Fine, optioned the book.
The young actor, who appears on the FOX series as Kurt Hummel, is also writing an indie coming-of-age comedy, titled "Struck by Lightning," in which he will also star. Brian Dannelly is set to direct.
